• • • Public Works - Utility Worker
    • The City of Austin is looking for a qualified candidate to apply for a full-time position as a utility worker.  Our public works department covers Water, Sewer, Streets, and various other duties as needed.  THIS JOB IS AN OUTDOOR JOB!  If you're not comfortable working outdoors, then this may not be the job for you.  The candidate must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.  The candidate must also possess/maintain a current drivers license and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  A water distribution and/or a wastewater operator license is preferred, but not necessary.  Any experience with tools, machinery, and/or utilities is a plus.  This job is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with the occasional on-call.  Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation after 1 year, and retirement.  If you are interested, please submit an application to Austin City Hall located at 3181 Hwy 367 N  Austin, AR 72007.  You may print an application located on this website, or you may come by Austin City Hall and pick one up.  You may also apply on Indeed.com.  The Public Works director will review all applications and proceed from there.  The position(s) will be open until filled.  Salary depends on experience and can be negotiated in the interview ($16 hr.+).
